Ghaneeyyah Ipadeola Sulaiman-Olokodana, a clinical psychologist by training, is the Managing Partner at Spicedge and sees to the daily operations of the business.
More than a decade ago, Ghaneeyyah saw an opportunity to earn some extra income during her National Youth Service from selling homemade Zobo & Kunu drinks which she collected from her then boss’ wife. Due to the good business relationship that they had developed, her supplier readily taught her the art of making the delicious homemade drink, something she still does till date. Over the years, she has gone ahead to include other refreshing homemade drinks like yoghurt, fruit juices & smoothies. Today, her clients have become such a devoted following who only take the drinks because they are ‘made by Ghaneeyyah.’
As her clientele grew, there was the need to compliment the drinks with snacks & food & thus, Ghaneeyyah saw the need to improve her baking skills. Soon after, she was also selling delicious homemade cupcakes, cookies, pastries, etc.
Several years later, another opportunity arose when a client contracted her to cater to their event, a job she carried out with such professionalism, no one would know that was the first time she, together with her 3 hurriedly assembled ‘partners’- her husband & two friends was doing such a job.
Thus, a passion for cooking delicious meals, an eye for detail, a flair for getting things done properly, an innate ability to identify and anticipate people’s needs and a competence to help others become better individuals gave rise to the business: SPICEDGE (THE HALAL CENTRE)
